Carbon Emissions

Carbon emissions have increased over the last 30 years ago, especially in the Middle East and to a lesser extent in North Africa. The Arabian Gulf region has some of the oil rich countries with the highest rate of emissions in the world. This large ecological footprint is because the resource is cheap and always available. Qatar had the highest carbon emissions, 10 times more than the average. North African countries have the lowest footprint with less than the half of the global average.

The United Arab Emirates is fourth highest in the world and consequently has launched a project to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases .This responsible behavior is encouraged by the government to make us environmentally aware and to monitor the levels of emissions and to build areas that absorb gases.

Solar Energy Plant

Gamesolar energy plant  is funded by Abu Dhabi’s green Masdar company  and Spain’s Sener a leading  engineering firm. The idea  behind the new Gamesolar plant  is to transfer the  heat energy from the sun using a series of  mirrors and very hot salt. This then turns to liquid and is pumped to steam turbines which then produce electricity. Each year  is targeted to produce  110 gigawatts and they are challenged to maximize its capacity. The building design is so new that it took three  years to complete and was very expensive. The plant needs to control the passage of the  mirrors by a separate control system  centered on a main tower .The term heliostat is used to describe the complete design of the units.
